Around Town

The Phoenix Symphony finds itself on the road this weekend performing an All Tchaikovsky program in Scottsdale, Mesa, and in downtown Phoenix at the Orpheum Theatre. As you are driving around town, hopefully to one of the weekend concerts, keep an eye out for our Assistant Concertmaster, Dian D’Avanzo. Her beautiful profile graces billboards across Phoenix promoting the upcoming Superbowl here in Phoenix. (click here for a larger view) She is a big football fan, and it was music to her ears when she heard the mega-sporting event was headed to Arizona. You can find one of these billboards at 44th St and Washington, but there are others in the city as well - let us know if you find one! Let’s hope the Arizona Cardinals make it to the big game.

With both of our starting and backup quarterbacks out, it's doubtful that our Cardinals have any chance of maiking it to the Super Bowl in Glendale.

However, Dian's image is both beautiful and powerful. Her face could probably move a lot of ships and people toward Symphony Hall.

Do you have an actual downloadable picture file of that poster? We, her devoted fans, would love to have it as our PC wallpaper.
