Symphony for the Schools

Over 2,000 excited Valley school children poured into Symphony Hall last Friday for The Phoenix Symphony's first Symphony for the Schools of the 2009/10 Season.

This 47-year old program, sponsored by Wells Fargo, exposes the imaginative and inspirational properties of classical music to Valley students.

Titled "Adventures in Music" and conducted by Assistant Conductor Benjamin Rous, last week's concert included the thrilling music from Pirates of the Caribbean, Beethoven's imagination-sparking Pastorale Symphony, and the charming ballet music from Coppelia.

The next Symphony for the Schools, "Holiday Express!," will take place December 2 - 4. Do you want your child to experience live symphonic music and celebrate the Holiday season at the same time? Learn more about Symphony for the Schools and pass along the information with your child's teacher!
