An Interview with John Adams

Thursday is opening night for one of the most highly anticipated concerts during The Phoenix Symphony's 2009/10 Season. Nixon in China (November 12 - 14) will be a powerful production including five vocalists in full costumes and the incorporation of archival photos and video of the original 1972 event.

The Arizona Republic's Richard Nilsen recently spoke with Virginia G. Piper Music Director Michael Christie and John Adams, the man behind the opera, to understand a bit more about this historical and complex opera.
