The Spring 2010 Newsletter

The Phoenix Symphony is happy to announce the release of the Spring 2010 Newsletter titled Tempo!

Headlining the newsletter is the 2009/10 Annual Fund Campaign status and goal. As a non-profit 501 c3 organization, The Phoenix Symphony relies on charitable donations to make up 50% of its overall budget. Currently, the Symphony is at 73% of its $1.2 Million goal to fulfill by June 30, 2010.

From orchestra news, education program spotlights and musician profiles to Michael Christie’s very own column “Keeping Time”, our newsletter is your go-to guide for all things ‘Symphony’!

Check out some of the great content here.

It's great to get Bruce Pulk's recommendations. I know many of the less=plazed pieces he mentions and I love (e.g., the Petterson, Novák, Antheil, Martinů, Schmidt, Schoenberg) ,and they're all excellent! That means, I'm sure to be pleased to listen to many works I'm still unfamiliar with.
I'll be looking into them.

Also, I want to say that given Mr. Pulk's location on the stage, he stands out and has become one of my favorite musicians to watch.
