The Doc is In

Trumpet legend Doc Severinsen served many successful years as Principal Pops Conductor of The Phoenix Symphony. In fact, The Phoenix Symphony was Doc's very first orchestra conducting job and served as a gateway to what became an extremely prolific Pops career resulting in regular conducting posts with orchestras across the country. Because of this, it's with special nostalgia that we enter this week of fun with Doc's brand new show, El Ritmo de la Vida.

Of special note, for the younger generation, Doc and the Symphony will also be putting on a shorter version of the show for our Family Concert Series on Saturday afternoon. In keeping with the show's theme, kids who come early will have a chance to learn about latin music and even make their own latin percussion instruments

In addition to the concerts themselves, Doc will be appearing on a couple of his favorite radio haunts including the always irreverant Beth & Bill show on KEZ tomorrow morning (Thursday, January 28th). Listen for him on KOY on Friday as well. Then, grab your tickets (there are only a few left!) and get down to Symphony Hall for some firey trumpet-driven tunes full of latin rhythm reverberating off every wall and corner.
