Concertmaster Steven Moeckel Takes Center Stage

This weekend will be a special treat for audiences who have been pining for a chance to get to know our new concermaster, Steven Moeckel better - both in personality and performance. Steven will be performing the Carmen Fantasy - an arrangement by Sarasate of the major themes of Bizet's famous opera Carmen for solo violin and orchestra. Steven has been living and breathing this piece lately and immediately after this weekend's performances, he will be off to England where he will record the piece for an upcoming new album. This piece truly has it all: amazing virtuosic playing around fresh exciting arrangements of tunes everyone knows and loves.

We could tell you more about it here, but why not let Steven tell you about it himself? Check out the video below where he talks not only about the Carmen Fantasy, but also about how he came to play the violin, what it is exactly that a concertmaster does, and even his days as a boy soprano with the Vienna Boys Choir!

You can get your tickets for this concert here. Don't miss it!
